    Mr. Sydney James LOWCOCK, MBE JP (1930-2012)
    31st January 2012

    The Diocesan Boys' School and her extended community mourn the loss of Mr. S.J. Lowcock - An infinitely loving, benevolent, wise, caring and selfless leader.

    Mr. Lowcock passed away peacefully at 1:43pm on 26th January, 2012 with his family, colleagues and students by his side. May he find eternal peace in the Lord and may the Lord embrace Mr. Lowcock with His loving arms.

    Mr. Lowcock’s legacy will live on in every DBS boy’s heart. All Diocesan boys, past and present, will continue to uphold and perpetuate Mr. Lowcock’s undefiled heritage.

    Vigil, Funeral Service and Memorial Service for Mr. S. J. Lowcock

    SYDNEY JAMES LOWCOCK (former headmaster of Diocesan Boys' School), loving brother of ALWIN, brother-in-law of AIDA, uncle of BRIAN, SANDRA, KEITH, STEVEN, SUSAN, ANTHONY, BARBARA, PHILIP, PATRICIA and ANDREW, passed away peacefully on 26th January, 2012.

    Vigil Service will be held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home at 7:00pm on 14th February, 2012 and Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Cathedral, Garden Road, at 11am on 15th February, 2012.

    Memorial Service will be held at Diocesan Boys' School at 2:00pm on Saturday, 18th February, 2012 (D.B.S. families).

    In lieu of flowers, please make donations to "DSOBA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION LTD" and write at the back of the cheque "LOWCOCK FOUNDATION".

    School Open House

    The School Open House and Chinese New Year Fair are scheduled for Sunday, 15 January 2012. Parents and visitors will be able to see a display of students’ works and a range of activities and performances presented by our boys. Parents, students, relatives and friends of your family are cordially invited to visit the School.

    Speech Day

    The Annual Speech Day was held on Friday, 13 January 2012. All Grade 6 graduates (2010-2011) and prize winners were cordially invited to attend the Prize Presentation Ceremony that was held in the Assembly Hall of the Primary Division.

    The 57th Annual School Fete

    The School Fete is one of the major annual events of DBS. It is organized for raising funds to subsidize students in need and to make available extra amenities which are not provided by government grants. It is also a time for great fun and enjoyment, and for visitors to get to know about the School.

    Inquiry Based Learning Week

    The Primary Division will have the Inquiry Based Learning Week (IBLW) scheduled from Monday, 20 June 2011 until Friday, 24 June 2011. The theme for this year’s IBLW is 'Countries around the World’.

    Homecoming Concert 2011

    The DBS Music Department, DBS Parent-Teacher Association, DBS Alumni Parents' Association, Diocesan School Old Boys' Association and DBS Fund Raising Committee proudly present to you – Homecoming Concert 2011. The Homecoming Concert is an annual event with multiple purposes: (a) to honour the outstanding achievements of our boys at this year’s Music Festival, with DBS being awarded the “Outstanding School of the Year”, (b) to raise fund for the School Improvement Projects and (c) to welcome all new students and parents.
