The Diocesan Boys' School and her extended community mourn the loss of Mr. S.J. Lowcock - An infinitely loving, benevolent, wise, caring and selfless leader.

Mr. Lowcock passed away peacefully at 1:43pm on 26th January, 2012 with his family, colleagues and students by his side. May he find eternal peace in the Lord and may the Lord embrace Mr. Lowcock with His loving arms.

Mr. Lowcock’s legacy will live on in every DBS boy’s heart. All Diocesan boys, past and present, will continue to uphold and perpetuate Mr. Lowcock’s undefiled heritage.

Vigil, Funeral Service and Memorial Service for Mr. S. J. Lowcock

SYDNEY JAMES LOWCOCK (former headmaster of Diocesan Boys' School), loving brother of ALWIN, brother-in-law of AIDA, uncle of BRIAN, SANDRA, KEITH, STEVEN, SUSAN, ANTHONY, BARBARA, PHILIP, PATRICIA and ANDREW, passed away peacefully on 26th January, 2012.

Vigil Service will be held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home at 7:00pm on 14th February, 2012 and Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Cathedral, Garden Road, at 11am on 15th February, 2012.

Memorial Service will be held at Diocesan Boys' School at 2:00pm on Saturday, 18th February, 2012 (D.B.S. families).

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to "DSOBA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION LTD" and write at the back of the cheque "LOWCOCK FOUNDATION".

Parents and visitors will be able to see a display of students’ works and a range of activities and performances presented by our boys. Parents, students, relatives and friends of your family are cordially invited to visit the School.

The Annual Speech Day was held on Friday, 13 January 2012. All Grade 6 graduates (2010-2011) and prize winners were cordially invited to attend the Prize Presentation Ceremony that was held in the Assembly Hall of the Primary Division.

The School Fete is one of the major annual events of DBS. It is organized for raising funds to subsidize students in need and to make available extra amenities which are not provided by government grants. It is also a time for great fun and enjoyment, and for visitors to get to know about the School.

Inquiry Based Learning Week

Fun Learning Day 2010

The Fun Learning Days will be held on the 14th and 15th December 2010. There is a wide body of research that tells us that having fun is fundamental to children's learning. Therefore, we would like the children to experience their usual subjects under a 'new light'. The activities planned for these two days aim for children to solve problems, get along with others, express their creativity and develop their physical dexterity and language skills. It is through play and having fun that children truly experience the joy of learning.

Ip Man II Gala Premiere

The DBS Fund Raising Committee proudly presents to you the "Gala Premiere for

Ip Man II". Ip Man II is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Ip Man, a semi-biographical martial arts film based on the life of Ip Man, a grandmaster of the martial art Wing Chun and the first person to teach Wing Chun openly. Ip Man was nominated for 12 Hong Kong Film Awards, winning awards for Best Film and Best Action Choreography in 2009. Continuing after the events of Ip Man, the sequel centers on Ip's (reprised by Donnie Yen) movements in Hong Kong as he attempts to propagate his discipline of Wing Chun martial arts and faces rivalry with the local master Hung (reprised by Sammo Hung).
