The DBS Music Department, DBS Parent-Teacher Association, DBS Alumni Parents' Association, Diocesan School Old Boys’ Association and DBS Fund Raising Committee proudly present to you - DBS "Classical" Concert 2008 and DBS "HomeComing" Concert 2008.

Tickets for the DBS Classical Concert are priced at $80, $100 and $150.  Tickets for the DBS HomeComing Concert are priced at $80, $200 and $500.  The tickets will be on sale at URBTIX from Wednesday 4 June 2008.

You are cordially invited to sponsor the concerts as a fund raising event for the School.  The following sponsorship arrangement with complimentary tickets is available.  Sponsorship should be forwarded to the School by Friday 23 May 2008.

Innovative designs recognised at awards

 

Thomas Chow Architects shared the honour with their budget design for a multi-functional complex at Diocesan Boys' School.
Company director Thomas Chow Tak-nin said the architects had to conserve a set of 70-year-old stone steps when designing an eight-storey complex next to them.

The complex accommodates a swimming pool, gymnasium and dormitory.
I am an old boy myself, Mr Chow said. I know the stone steps are part of the heritage of the school.
The design had to be adapted to the hilly site without retaining walls to save money.

 

 

The DBS Tree Planting Day 2008 is scheduled for Friday, 25 April and Saturday 26 April 2008. Mr. Michael M Y Suen, Secretary for Education, has kindly consented to officiate at the ceremony at the Glass Pavilion of the Secondary Division on Friday, 25 April 2008.

The annual Tree Planting Day is a fund raising activity as well as a conservation education programme for students and parents. We believe that through physical involvement and active participation in tree planting, our boys will have a better understanding of the importance of environment conservation, and develop a sense of respect for nature.

Over $1,600,000 has been raised for the school. We thank you all for your continuous support and are looking forward to work with you again.

The 10 Km FunD Run will be held on 17th February 2008, and so far, 341 old boys, parents and students have applied for this event. Over $500,000 has been raised for the school as of 22nd January 2008. We thank you all for your continuous support and are looking forward to work with you again.

DBS Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony 2007

The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Samuel Tak Lee Building was held on the 4th November 2007.

We thank the generous donations from Mr. Lee, all old boys, parents, students and teachers. <click for photos>

InComing Concert & HomeComing Concert 2007 “A Celebration”.

This annual event serves three purposes:

(a) to honour the outstanding achievements of our boys at this year’s Music Festival,

 with DBS being awarded the “Outstanding School of the Year”,

(b) to raise funds for the school and

(c) to welcome all new students and parents.

The InComing Concert on Friday 13 July 2007 is intended for new students and families of the

Primary and Secondary Division. Current students and families are also welcome.

The HomeComing Concert on Saturday 14 July 2007 is intended for current students and

extended family of DBS – parents (current and past), old boys, & friends.

Tickets for both concerts are priced at $100, $250, $350 and $500

and will be on sale at URBTIX from Wednesday 13 June 2007.
