This year, the Homecoming Concert will celebrate the successful handover of the conductor baton from Mr Ronnie Cheng to a new generation of leaders - Mr Felix Shuen and Mr Samuel Pang, taking over the Music Department and continuing DBS forever.

Due to a recent burglary in the staff quarters, you are reminded to always keep the doors & windows properly closed whenever necessary. Day school members should be vigilant and safeguard your belongings.

Besides, the School will escalate the following security measures:

Enhance security checks involving ALL strangers coming to school at the main entrance.

Increase the frequency of security guard patrols.

Review the existing security systems, such as CCTVs & infrared sensors, for possible enhancement.

Expand the security fences around the campus’s boundary.

The 65th HK Schools Music Festival & Inter-School Athletics Championships

The 65^th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival were held between 25^th February and 27^th March 2013. With the exception of the events held at Martha Boss Community Centre, all Group Class events were open to public and you were most welcome to come and support our boys. The Choir Finals were held on 22^ndMarch 2013. Thanks must be given to all parents and friends of DBS who came to support our choristers.

10km FunD Run

First time in the history of the DBS 10K Fund Run, the DBS Athletics Club is hosting a 12 week free training in DBS for the DBS 10K runners. Whether you want to beat your personal bests, to learn more training drills, or just to finish the race easier, you have good reasons to join this program.

Apart from regular practices on running in every Saturday mornings, there will be several training clinic talks presented by Dr Simon Yeung and the experienced DBSAC members. Dr Simon Yeung (year '75) is a reputable distance runner in HK and is now lecturing in the Department of Rehabilitation Science in the Hong Kong Polytechnics University.

各位家長：為了鞏固中學文憑試中國語文科的備戰工作，G12的同學須在十二月出席卷四「說話能力」的補課活動，以及聯校模擬練習，藉以增加實戰經驗，詳情請參閱中文部的家長通告。此外，本校亦邀請了「教育局校本支援服務處語文教學支援組高級學校發展主任」黎耀庭先生前來講學，與學生分享中文科五卷的應試策略，希望有助同學改善答題技巧。至於卷一「閱讀能力」方面，中文部已編撰《校本文言文備試練習》，欲針對性地提升學生的「古文、白話文對譯技巧」，另備有補充練習以加強閱讀理解訓練，G10至G12的同學將獲派發練習一本，敬希家長督促　貴子弟努力溫習，共同為文憑試作好準備。初中級別的同學，請熟讀校本《成語學習檔案》、《常見錯別字手冊》，以建立穩固的語文基礎，為文憑試鋪路。只要家、校真誠合作，拔萃仔定能克服任何難關與挑戰，共勉。
