The Diocesan Boys' School and her extended community mourn the loss of Mr. S.J. Lowcock - An infinitely loving, benevolent, wise, caring and selfless leader.

Mr. Lowcock passed away peacefully at 1:43pm today with his family, colleagues and students by his side. May he find eternal peace in the Lord and may the Lord embrace Mr. Lowcock with His loving arms.

Mr. Lowcock’s legacy will live on in every DBS boy's heart. All Diocesan boys, past and present, will continue to uphold and perpetuate Mr. Lowcock’s undefiled heritage.

Vigil, Funeral Service and Memorial Service for Mr. S. J. Lowcock

SYDNEY JAMES LOWCOCK (former headmaster of Diocesan Boys' School), loving brother of ALWIN, brother-in-law of AIDA, uncle of BRIAN, SANDRA, KEITH, STEVEN, SUSAN, ANTHONY, BARBARA, PHILIP, PATRICIA and ANDREW, passed away peacefully on 26th January, 2012.

Vigil Service will be held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home at 7:00pm on 14th February, 2012 and Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Cathedral, Garden Road, at 11am on 15th February, 2012.

Memorial Service will be held at Diocesan Boys' School at 2:00pm on Saturday, 18th February, 2012 (D.B.S. families)

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to "DSOBA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION LTD" and write at the back of the cheque "LOWCOCK FOUNDATION".

Appointment of New Headmaster

At the School Committee meeting on 12 January 2012, it was resolved to appoint Mr. Ronnie Cheng as Headmaster of the school to succeed Mr. Terence Chang who will retire in August 2012. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Education Bureau.

Sports Day (Final) will be held at the Wanchai Sportsground on November 29, 2011 from 8:30 am. to 5:00 pm. The first event will start at 9:00 am. Lunch break will be from 12:00 noon to 1:15 pm.

Prize Presentation will take place at 4:00 pm. Mr. Wong Wai Kuen (Athletics Captain of 92-93) will be our Guest of Honour. All boys are requested to attend the function. Roll-call will be taken at 8:30 am and 1:15 pm.

30 November 2011 is a school holiday.

Garden Fete 2011

The annual Garden Fete will be held on 13^th November 2011 (Sunday). Parents and old boys are especially welcome to revisit DBS on the day and support our boys who have put much effort into the event.

Free shuttle bus service for parents, students and visitors will be provided on that day. Please refer to the attachment for the shuttle bus arrangements.

Only a small number of parking will be available the whole day during the Garden Fete. Parking will not be provided on a rainy day. As the number of parking spaces is very limited, a long queue of vehicles using the school drive will be expected whether these vehicles are only used for dropping off passengers or parking. The waiting time is usually at least 45 minutes based on past experience. Once the parking lots are full, drivers will be asked to leave the school drive (i.e. no waiting allowed) to avoid over congesting the only exit in case of emergencies.

Therefore, parents and students are highly encouraged to take the shuttle bus or walk up either via the Main Drive from Argyle Street or via the Steps from Prince Edward Road to avoid delays. No matter which way you come, we look forward to seeing you all at the Garden Fete.

Inter-school Swimming Championship

The Finals of the Inter-School Swimming Championship 2011 has been held successfully on 27th October 2011 at Kowloon Park Swimming Pool. Our swimmers have scored 537 points in total and become the overall champion.

"天下為公" 音樂會

The DBS & DGS Mixed Choir, DGJS Choir and DBSPD Choir will perform with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra at "The World Is For All" Concert ("天下為公"音樂會), to be held on 28 October 2011 (Friday), 8:00pm, at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Limited free tickets of the concert are available for students and parents (maximum of 4 tickets each). For ticket reservations, please contact Ms. Holly Wong at 2768 5643 before 19 October 2011.

Leadership Training Camp 2011

Leadership Training Camp updated

If 30 Sept. is a normal school day, G11 boys need to attend school in full uniform and also bring along PE uniform and sport shoes. Arrangement for 30 Sept. will be disclosed in due course.

All Grade 11 boys please assemble in the hall at 8:10 am when you come to school on 30 Sept. Please be seated according to the seats plan used on Tuesday. Roll-call will be taken in the hall.

Inter-house Swimming Finals 2011
